Bolder Rules

Unfortunately every gym has rules, however they are in place to ensure everyone can safely climb and feel comfortable in the gym. Please be respectful of the rules so everyone can enjoy their time bouldering at Bolder Climbing Community.

Bouldering Rules

  • All climbers must check in prior to entry
  • The use of at least one spotter is recommended when bouldering
  • No bouldering beyond marked bouldering holds.
  • Boulder within your personal limits
  • Children under the direct supervision of their parent and/or chaperone.
  • Children should not play in bouldering area
  • No personal belongings or climbing equipment on bouldering mats with the exception of chalk bag
  • Do not sit in fall zones
  • Be aware of climbers above and around you
  • Do not climb on top of boulders unless prior authorization is granted.
  • No glass of any kind in climbing area
  • No adjustments to walls or climbing holds (only staff)
  • Training equipment must remain in training area
  • Only authorized personnel may coach or train others at Bolder Climbing Community
  • No children under the age of 10 allowed in the training area
  • No unauthorized climbing
  • All climbers must sign waiver prior to entry
  • Climbers age 18 and younger must have a parent/legal guardian read and sign the waiver
  • No food or drink in the climbing area. Water only
  • No climbing under the influence of alcohol or illegal substances
  • Do not wear rings on fingers while climbing, or wear jewelry that could create an entanglement hazard

Facility Rules

  • Shirts must be worn at all times
  • Shoes must be worn at all times (Indoor shoes only)
  • Fire exits must be left clear
  • Personal belongings must be kept in designated areas
  • No open beverages in climbing area
  • No running
  • No roughhousing
  • Do not enter climbing area without authorization
  • Please remove outdoor shoes at the door

Liability and Waiver

Everyone must sign a waiver form before climbing. This can be done in person or online to speed up the process.

Under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian sign the waiver form in person. This can be done online or in person on site.

What is bouldering?

Bouldering is a very accessible form of the sport of climbing, in that all you need is climbing shoes, some chalk and yourself! If you don’t have shoes or chalk no problem. We’ve got you covered with shoes and chalk rentals. Climbing is a physical and movement based sport.

What do I need to bring?

Athletic clothing is all you need. We have climbing shoes and chalk for rent.

How do I get there?

We are a 7 minute walk north of the Chinook C-Train Station. We have ample parking too if you would like to drive.

Can I bring my kids?

Kids are welcome! We encourage all families to come in and enjoy our climbing center. There will be youth circuits waiting for you and your family. There is no better way to spend a day with your family than challenging yourselves mentally and physically.

We do not currently offer any youth courses or programs but we strongly recommend parents to join their children for a fun climbing session.

All youth must have a parent or legal guardian to sign the waiver form prior to entry.

All youth under the age of 13 must have adult supervision at all times.  The Maximum ratio required is 2 children per adult. This is for everyone’s safety.

Climbing is a sport anyone can enjoy! It is a fun, creative and social way to exercise your body and mind.
