Raphael Slawinski

I’ve lived in Calgary since the early 1980s and have been knocking about the Rockies for almost as long. One of the things that keeps me passionate about climbing after all this time is the variety of it. I can pull down on plastic at Bolder on Friday night and scare myself on thin ice at the Stanley Headwall on Saturday. I can gasp for breath on a 7000-m peak in Pakistan and a few weeks later whip on bolts in Echo Canyon – and it’s all climbing. When not climbing, I’m married with hairless cats and a physics professor at MRU.
