My name is Amanda Nadeau, and I am a lover of the outdoors and all things fitness related. I grew up playing all sorts of sports, and was competitive in basketball and volleyball. As I got older, I transitioned to more individual sports including triathlon, running, and Crossfit. A few years ago I found obstacle course racing and was hooked. It combines some of my favourite things: running, carrying heavy objects, swinging on rigs, and getting muddy. I now compete as a professional OCR racer and represent Canada in races all over the world. Last year I attended an event that had 100 obstacles over the course of 15km! That prompted me to take increasing my grip strength seriously, which is when I decided to take up bouldering. It is so different from anything else, and it provides such a mental challenge as well as physical that it never gets boring. The atmosphere at Bolder is so welcoming, and all the people are so friendly and helpful that I already feel as if I am part of an awesome new family.
When I’m not working out, I can be found hanging out with my pup Mowgli, getting lost in the mountains, or eating spoonfuls of peanut butter straight from the jar.
Live outside of your comfort zone. 😀
