Take the Whip –  2025/26 Series

It’s Back.!!! We’re so proud of the growth we’ve seen within our community here at Bolder in their desire to compete, whether for the first time ever or for the 100th time. Take the Whip – a sister event to the Triple Threat. Take the Whip is a rope-climbing scramble competition. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve just started top roping or you are an experienced lead climbers, we have beginner, intermediate and open categories available. Registration will open at 9am two weeks prior to each event. 

Categories and Format

Categories for men and women:

• Beginner (Top Rope ONLY) 
• Intermediate (Top Rope and Lead climbing)
• Open (Lead climbing ONLY) 
• Masters (40+ Top Rope and Lead Climbing)

 Format:

• Scramble 3 routes
• Climb when you want between 6-10pm.
• Three attempts maximum on each route.
• There will be 10 scoring holds on each route. Highest scoring hold you reach on each route will count towards your final score.  We will minus 1 on your second attempt and 2 on your third attempt making your first attempt worth the most.
  • Example: Scoring Hold 70 on first attempt = 70 points, Scoring hold 80 on 2nd attempt = 79 points, Scoring hold 100 on third attempt = 98 points.
• MUST PROVIDE YOUR OWN BELAYER
